Description: When we were in Cordoba, Argentina we visited an art museum that had a very appealing reflecting pond spanning the front of the museum. We noticed that the shape of the pool had four unequal sides in length and mistakenly thought it was a trapezoid. When we designed our swimming pool a number of years later, my wife Karla, who is an architect, replicated the design, but scaled it down with no equal length sides. Upon further review we discovered that the proper name for the shape having four unequal sides is a “scalene quadrilateral.” A trapezoid has two sides that are parallel, and the Scalene Quadrilateral has no parallel sides, Not that anyone would notice.
