Seasons - Winter
Description:
The signifying color of summer is sun yellow.
The signifying color of fall is maple tree red.
The signifying color of winter is overcast gray.
The signifying color of spring is new leaf green.
The realty is all colors can be found in all the seasons. The perspective is always changing.
The colors blend and change through the seasons in various combinations dictated by the rotation of the earth and the angle of the sun’s light hitting the earth.
Winter portends summer as we journey into and through spring. Days are either shortening starting at the beginning of summer or lengthening starting at the beginning of winter. This choreography of seasons is constant and impacts everything like every plant on earth. It especially influences our moods. It’s a major force of our life.
My presentation of four paintings titled “Seasons” is colors within geometric formations that although separate are always linked together and constantly changing due mostly to the rotational dance of the earth’s continuous journey around the sun. Light is always changing and therefore also our perspective of it. It is to be noted that the seasons are the opposite in the Southern Hemisphere and therefore the perspective is from the Northern Hemisphere.

My hope is that the dance of light and color in my paintings allows the viewer to see beyond just looking.”
